History of creation.
Selecsen, known in science literature as selenopiran, first was synthesized in Saratov University by A.F. Blinokhatov and V.G. Kharchenko in the beginning of 1980th. When chemical properties of selenopyran were studied, its biological active action as source of bioavailable and vitally necessary microelement – selenium, and also powerful fat-soluble antioxidant was supposed and proved in number of experiments.
Studies were performed in various farm animals and poultry in All-Russian Research Institute of Phisiology, Biochemistry and feeding of agriculture animals (Borovsk) by Prof. V.A. Galochkin et. al., and in Penza Agriculture Academy by Academician A.F. Bliokhatov et. al. immediately.
In the end of 1990th obtained results were of interest of researchers of Medical Radiological research center of RAMS. As a result of performed experiments with Medbiopharm Company immediate participation, the preparation Selecsen was proposed for wide use as dietary supplement, and after deep additional researches – as medicinal radioprotector. Study results are presented in numerous papers and reports.
Industrial production of Selecsen was launched by Medbiopharm in 2001 by technology developed by researchers of Medbiopharm.
Production technology is patented.
